A space for ceramic art, connection, and conversation.
Tucked inside Clay By The Bay, The Slip Gallery is a new exhibition space dedicated to showcasing contemporary ceramic work by local and visiting artists. Each show invites our community to slow down, look closely, and engage with the beauty, intention, and complexity of clay.
We believe in the power of ceramics not only as a craft—but as a vessel for ideas, identity, and shared experience. The Slip Gallery celebrates artists whose work pushes the boundaries of form, function, and storytelling.
Visiting the Gallery
The Slip Gallery is open during regular studio hours. Exhibitions will rotate regularly, and select works will be available for purchase.

Our debut exhibition 'Slip Show' is open August 1, 2025 through September 15th.
This inaugural exhibition marks a milestone for our ceramic studio. We pay tribute to our cherished clay community; the beloved potters and sculptors rooted in this creative dwelling.
Slip is a fluid suspension of clay in water. It binds two pieces together, texturizes surfaces, and serves as a tool to paint pigmented patterns. An intermediary between form and finish, its fluent structure is an emblem of our ebbs + flow.
We’re honored to introduce our first group of Resident Artists — the Founding Lifetime Members of Clay By The Bay’s Gallery Program.
These artists not only bring talent and dedication to their craft, but also generosity and heart to our community. Their early support helped launch this new chapter for our studio, and we are deeply grateful.
Each of them contributes to the spirit of Clay By The Bay in unique and meaningful ways — as makers, mentors, and collaborators. This residency is a small thank-you for the big role they’ve played in shaping the creative home we continue to build together.
We’re proud to showcase their work and to celebrate their continued presence in the studio:
