OUR STUDIO

BRINGING OUR LOVE OF CERAMICS TO THE SF BAY AREA SINCE 2014

Our studio is a space to come create ceramics, and become a part of a community - a safe space for creatives to congregate and connect.  Our Introductory Classes, such as Intro to Pottery Wheel and Intro to Handbuilding, provide the tools, instruction, and support to begin one's creative journey in clay.  With over 10,000 square feet of space we accept new and continuing potters on a daily basis through our Class, Membership, and Workshop options. 

Founded in 2014, we opened our studio at 1242 Mason St. San Francisco. We had 6 wheels, 1 kiln, and a chalkboard sign on the sidewalk, offering pottery lessons for anyone in the neighborhood.  After we spread the joy of clay with hundreds of you, we outgrew our cozy studio, and in 2016 moved to a larger 6,000 sq. ft. home on Pacific Ave.  We added 50+ whees, 5 kilns, 500+ shelves and a whole lot of people to share our love of clay. In 2024, after 10 years of operation, we expanded again into a 10,000+ sq. ft. beautiful art space - our newest home at 747 Beach St. Manifesting our namesake, Clay By the Bay Pottery Studios sits directly on the SF Bay with views of the Golden Gate Bridge. We still have that chalkboard sign on the sidewalk. Come see what we're all about.
