Tucked inside Clay by the Bay, The Slip Gallery is a new exhibition space dedicated to showcasing contemporary ceramic work by local and visiting artists. Each show invites our community to slow down, look closely, and engage with the beauty, intention, and complexity of clay.

We believe in the power of ceramics not only as a craft—but as a vessel for ideas, identity, and shared experience. The Slip Gallery celebrates artists whose work pushes the boundaries of form, function, and storytelling.

The Slip Gallery is open during regular studio hours. Exhibitions will rotate regularly, and select works will be available for purchase.

To slip is to soften. To blur the edges. To prepare for transformation.

Slip Show marks the inaugural exhibition of The Slip Gallery, celebrating the messy beginnings, fluid processes, and in-between stages that define the ceramic journey. Featuring works by Bay Area artists, this group show explores the many meanings of "slip"—as material, metaphor, and movement.

Expect the unexpected: vessels that collapse and reform, surfaces layered with gesture, sculptures that hold tension between refinement and rawness. Together, these pieces reflect the vulnerability, play, and experimentation at the heart of working with clay.

Join us for the opening reception on Friday, August 1st from 6–9PM. Free and open to all, with drinks, music, and a chance to meet the artists.
